Mein Review zu einem großartigen Album, was Potential besitzt, ein Genre so sehr zu prägen, wie einst Ulcerates "Destroyers of all".
Kurz vor ihrer ersten Europa-Tour zusammen mit Ulcerate habe ich DÉPARTE zum ersten mal gehört und bin direkt ihrem ersten Demo verfallen. Düsterer Post-Death Metal mit unglaublich guter Atmosphäre.
Dieser Artikel erschien ursprünglich am 2014-02-10 auf meinem alten Webzine NecroSlaughter.de. Ich finde, in Zeiten, in denen Gutalax als "Grindcore" bezeichnet werden, hat der Text mehr Relevanz den je.
ULCERATE sind wieder zurück. Schwerer und mürbender als zuvor. Im ersten Moment scheinen die abgrundtiefen Täler und leichten Hoffnungsschimmer auf "Vermis" zu fehlen, das Album scheint ein monochromantischer Monolith.
SULPHUROUS haben gerade mal ein Demo-Tape mit zwei Songs draußen. Aber die beiden Tracks fetzen schon mal richtig fett, irgendwo zwischen südamerikanischer Schule, Incantation, Deicide und Konsorten.
